September 30, 2016
Charles Change, former SFU Beedie school of business alumnus, donated $10 million to make a new innovation center in downtown Vancouver. The new space, called the Charles Chang Innovation Centre, will be used by SFU to support students and faculty in innovation and accelerate entrepreneurship.
Beedie’s Graduate Certificate in Science and Technology Commercialization and RADIUS, the Beedie School of Business’ social innovation lab and venture incubator, are some of the firsts to share the space. These programs and incubators will be empowering students and graduates with the skills to make their inventions a commercial success.
The certificate's first class graduates this fall, with Ophthalight being one of the many that benefit from this program.
Ophthalight's DUI screener device, was one the promising technologies that featured in the opening ceremony of the Charles Change innovation center on September 27th.
